Fraud Policy
Last updated · 27 July 2026
Every garment claimed fraudulently is a garment taken from a real flood-affected family. This policy explains how we detect, prevent and act on suspected fraud on the Assam Flood Relief 2026 portal.
1. What we consider fraud
- Multiple applications from the same person, family or household.
- Applications from outside the notified flood-affected districts.
- False names, addresses, pincodes or contact details.
- Fabricated flood photos, ID documents, or relief camp slips.
- Use of bots, scripts, VPNs or proxies to submit or amplify applications.
- Reselling or attempting to resell a garment received from this campaign.
2. How we detect it
- Phone, email and address deduplication.
- IP-address and device fingerprinting to flag suspicious patterns.
- Pincode and district validation against the notified list.
- Manual review of every application before packing.
- Optional verification via ID or supporting photos where needed.
3. Consequences
Applications flagged as fraudulent will be cancelled without notice. Where warranted, we may also block the phone number, email and IP from future campaigns, and report the incident to relevant authorities.
4. Report suspected fraud
If you believe someone has submitted a fraudulent application, please report it to us on Instagram at @nupurkonwarstudio with any details or evidence you can share. Reports are treated confidentially.
5. Good-faith mistakes
We understand that entire villages may share the same Wi-Fi or a single device. Duplicate IPs are flagged for manual review rather than auto-rejected, and genuine applicants are contacted where possible before any cancellation.
